JUST FOR FUN: Malev Hungarian Airlines Ilyushin Il-96-300

Picking up where I left off on some "fantasy" Il-96s, this is one in Malev's current colors that I did about a year and a half ago:



I've always liked the concept behind Malev's current corporate logo- it reflects the three colors of the Hungarian flag both as a stylized "M" for Malev but also as a stylized wing suggesting the act of flight.

JUST FOR FUN: LOT Polish Airlines Ilyushin Il-96-300

Back last month I had posted some "fantasy" Lockheed Electras in Braniff's Flying Colors livery. On occasion I'll indulge in a bit of fantasy/what-iffery as a diversion from ongoing illustration projects. Here's one of a series I did last year using the Ilyushin Il-96-300 as a basis:



The Illyushin Il-96-300 has to be one of the more interesting looking airliners in the skies...

Cracking into the big leagues...

The German aviation magazine Flieger Revue has a quarterly supplement to the regular periodical and in Extra #16 in two places were my first illustrations to get published. The supplement is the Flieger Revue Extra #16 which just came out in March of this year.

In the letters to the editor section Andreas Rupprecht, the author I've been working with, sent them two of my fantasy Il-96 profiles in Interflug's two liveries:
